Dear Police and Law Enforcement Executive,

On behalf of the Seattle Police Department, we are pleased to be hosting the first annual ‘International Conference for Police & Law Enforcement Executives.’ This conference is like no other: the focus will be on you and how to successfully manage your career. This annual conference is for those who are at the executive level or climbing the ladder to executive positions. Certainly, there have been many books written by various academic experts on leadership, but this is not what you will find at this conference. This conference will feature those that have been there when the going got tough and have survived and thrived in their careers.

You know the challenge! This is not for the faint-of-heart. There are numerous pitfalls inherent in the executive role; the reality is that we are all one headline away from losing public trust and confidence. Is there a formula or is it just our luck that determines our level of success at the executive level?

We will gather speakers from around the world in a small intimate setting in Seattle to discuss the above issues and more. This year’s theme “Leading in Times of Crisis” will feature an international roster of police and law enforcement leaders who will share their personal approaches to the variety of issues that can impact your career.

This conference will help you with specific strategies to shape your career in these difficult times. Hear from those who have had to handle the “big event;” the event that could happen to you. Take away strategies to strengthen your leadership in the eyes of your department and community because it is certain that in time…things will go wrong!

We look forward to seeing you in Seattle, Washington in April!

Sincerely,
